T-CAP

Treasurers Conservation Assistance Program

Once contracted under a federal program such as ECP, EWP, EQIP, CRP, or CREP an individual whose project is located in a disaster county (declared or contiguous) may apply for a low interest T-CAP loan through their typical lender.  The loan is for the percentage of the project that is not covered by cost-share.

Rain Barrels

The Johnson County SWCD is now selling rain barrels.  The barrels are recycled plastic and include the diverter kit as seen at the fair.  Please click here for more information.  The barrels cost $100, and there is a rebate of $75 for residents of the Youngs Creek Watershed.  Please make checks for $100 per barrel, payable to "Johnson County SWCD"

Rebate forms for eligible Youngs Creek Watershed residents will need to be signed by purchaser when picking up barrel(s).

 

SAFE Program from USDA

The USDA introduced a new program for wildlife habitat improvement.  The SAFE (State Acres for wildlife Enhancement) program is available now in Indiana.  For more information please see the fact sheet below.

Youngs Creek Watershed and Indian Creek Watershed

SECTION 319 GRANT FOR DUAL WATERSHED PROJECTS

In January, 2007, the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation District received approval of a two-year Section 319 Grant for $275,509 through the Environmental Protection Agency, with assistance from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, to implement Phase III of the Youngs Creek Watershed Cost-Share Program and develop a Watershed Management Plan for the Indian Creek Watershed.
