Riparian Area- Cost Share Project-
Tree Planting Project

Cost Share Program

The Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation District, Youngs Creek Watershed Project has funding available for riparian area establishment.  Trees, shrubs, and native grasses are just a few of the different types of buffers available for funding.  Through our cost share program, the JCSWCD- Youngs Creek Watershed Project can provide up to 75% cost share to landowners wanting to develop Riparian Buffers along the streamside property.  These buffering systems aid in filtering sediment from surface run-off, stabilize streambanks and reduce erosion, serve as a source of food and shelter for wildlife, enhance fish and wildlife movement, and improve aquatic habitat through reduction of water temperature.  All projects must fall with the Youngs Creek Watershed boundaries to be eligible.

* Below you will notice our tree planting guide and cost estimates.  These figures are estimates from the Indiana State Tree Nursery, run by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, located in Vallonia, IN.
