**Riparian area projects (tree, shrub and grass selection) must receive final approval by the Johnson County SWCD prior to development.

*** Equipment available for cost-share includes:  Strawblower, Crimper, Hydro-Seeder, No-Till Drill.  Leasing projects will be funded on a first come first serve basis until available funds are used up.

****Wildlife Habitat Improvement projects must have a water quality benefit to be considered.

*****Pervious Surface must be installed by a certified installer, a list of certified installers is available from the SWCD office.

Section 319 funds can not be used to meet MS4 requirements unless the proposed use of 319 funds goes "above and beyond" the requirements outlined in the MS4 permit and/or described in the Storm Water Quality Management Plan.  If a proposed BMP is required to meet MS4 or NPDES requirements, it is ineligible for 319 funding.

Maximum payment for a landowner completing more than one practice is $6,000, $10,000 for educational demo projects, hard money.  If permits are required for any of the Best Management Practices, the landowner will be responsible for permit.
 

New for 2008: Cost-share funding available for funding of engineering costs for cost-share projects.  Please call the office for details.


Cost-share funds may not be used to reimburse an applicant for the following:

·         Purchase of agricultural equipment, or other large pieces of equipment (equipment modifications and leasing are allowable)

·         Purchase of land or land easements (these activities can be counted as matching funds in some cases)

·         Any project which is directed at water quantity rather than water quality, such as dredging, drainage, or flood control

·         Any practices, equipment, or supplies used to fulfill the requirements of any federal permit, such as a NPDES permit or to comply with IDEM's Confined Feeding Operation rule or permit requirements, or to meet enforcement requirements.

·         Wetland mitigation sites

·         Incentive payments or yield losses

·         Practices not sanctioned by IDEM or a partner agency of IDEM

·         Practices not installed in accordance with standards and specifications developed by NRCS, IDNR or other recognized standards.

·         Sales tax
